SECTION 1

GLOBAL FORUM RULES


SUB-SECTION (A) - OFFENCES PERTAINING TO ALL INDIVIDUAL FORUMS - (100-110)


100. ENTERING RESTRICTED AREAS

"Entering restricted areas" refers to accessing documents or pages that are deemed confidential and belong to the server, its affiliates, and staff members through any means necessary that would otherwise be closed off from the public.

 

Examples of such documents and pages include but is not limited to:

        I.            The Builder Forum;

     II.            The Helper Forum; or

   III.            The Moderator Forum.


101. EXPOSING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

"Exposing confidential information" refers to revealing information which is deemed to be private or sensitive and pertains to a user or the server and its services.


102. GENERAL ADVERTISEMENT

"General advertisement" refers to posting content for the purpose of promoting products or services that are not relevant to Minecraft or any game in general.


103. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT

"Inappropriate content" refers to creating threads or posts with content that is unsuitable for users below the age of 13 to view.

 

Examples of such content include but is not limited to:

        I.            Any unrated content which contains undesirable links, pictures or videos;

     II.            Content rated NC16, M18, R21 or "NSFW";

   III.            Derogatory or discriminatory content; or

  IV.            Sexual content.


104. NECRO-POSTING

"Necro-posting" refers to posting comments on threads that have not been replied to for more than 2 weeks. However, this particular rule does not apply to certain forums.

 

The list of forums where this rule is not applicable:

        I.            Abuse Reports;

     II.            Appeals;

   III.            Bug Reports;

  IV.            Creative Server Rank Applications;

    V.            Factions Server Rank Applications;

  VI.            Guides and Rules;

VII.            Help and Other Issues;

VIII.            Staff Applications; or

  IX.            Suggestions.


105. SERVER ADVERTISEMENT

"Server advertisement" refers to posting content for the purpose of promoting other servers which are not affiliated with the Xeal Gaming Network.


106. SCAMMING

"Scamming" refers to conning other users in a supposedly fair trade comprising of a monetary transaction or any other transactions involving barter in exchange for items, money or services.

 

Examples of such scams include but is not limited to:

        I.            Auctioning fake items;

     II.            Tricking users into purchasing supposedly cheap items, money or services at a significant mark up;

   III.            Not presenting a user with the agreed prize(s) upon fulfilling certain criterion or criteria; or

  IV.            Not putting up your end of the bargain.


107. SPAMMING

"Spamming" refers to the repeated creation of posts or threads consecutively and in quick succession. However, this particular rule does not apply in the "Spam" forum.


108. STAFF IMPERSONATION

"Staff impersonation" refers to acts of imitation of a staff member of the server by any user who is not of an equal or elevated authority.

 

Examples of such acts include but is not limited to:

        I.            Claiming to be a staff member;

     II.            Copying the nickname of a staff member; or

   III.            Using the prefix of a staff member.


109. USE OF FORUM ACCOUNTS

"Use of forum accounts" refers to the responsible use of any registered account, meaning that a user can only control an account belonging to said user.

 

This means that:

        I.            Creating applications for other users is prohibited; or

     II.            Creating ban appeals for other users is prohibited.


110. VERBAL HARASSMENT

"Verbal harassment" refers to the acts of maltreatment of a user through a chat medium.

 

Examples of such acts include but is not limited to:

        I.            Blackmailing fellow users through threats;

     II.            Creating content containing malicious or slanderous statement about a user or the server; or

   III.            Expressing contempt towards other users.


SUB-SECTION (B) - OFFENCES PERTAINING TO THE FORUMS AS A WHOLE AND ITS SYSTEM - (120-122)


120. ABETMENT OF OFFENCE

"Abetment of offence" refers to aiding someone in violating any of the rules or the failure to report an irregularity to a staff member.


121. ATTACKING THE SYSTEM

"Attacking the system" refers to the repeated attempts of any individual to inflict harm to the forums and its services.

 

Examples of such attacks include but is not limited to:

        I.            Denial of Service (DoS) attacks;

     II.            Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks;

   III.            Proxy attacks; or

  IV.            Spambot attacks.


122. EVASION OF DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

"Evasion of disciplinary actions" refers to the use of any methods necessary, excluding appealing, to circumvent the disciplinary actions that have been meted out on a user.

 

Examples of such disciplinary actions include but is not limited to:

        I.            Account ban;

     II.            Account mute;

   III.            IP ban; or

  IV.            IP mute.

200. CYBERBULLYING

"Cyberbullying" refers to the act of intimidating and making fun of a user in a degrading fashion.


201. EXPOSING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

"Exposing confidential information" refers to revealing information which is deemed to be private or sensitive and pertains to a user or the server and its services.


202. FLOODING

"Flooding" refers to the addition of unnecessary letters in a chat message, lengthening it and making it a nuisance. Since there is no definite criterion for a message to be considered as chat flood, it is up to the deciding authority to determine if it is punishable.

 

Examples of such chat floods include but is not limited to:

        I.            Ahahahaahahaahahaahahaahaha;

     II.            Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii; or

   III.            Loooooooooooooooooooooooool.


203. INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT

"Inappropriate content" refers to creating threads or posts with content that is unsuitable for users below the age of 13 to view.

 

Examples of such content include but is not limited to:

        I.            Any unrated content which contains undesirable links, pictures or videos;

     II.            Content rated NC16, M18, R21 or "NSFW";

   III.            Derogatory or discriminatory content; or

  IV.            Sexual content.


204. SERVER ADVERTISEMENT

"Server advertisement" refers to posting content for the purpose of promoting other servers which are not affiliated with the Xeal Gaming Network.


205. SPAMMING

"Spamming" refers to the repeated transmission of messages consecutively and in quick succession.


206. USE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES

"Use of foreign languages" refers to the use of languages besides the English Language between 7am and 11pm Singapore Time. However, all users are free to use their language of choice in all chat mediums excluding the main chat channel or not during the stipulated timing.


207. USE OF TARGETED PROFANITIES

"Use of targeted profanities" refers to the use of vulgarities which are specifically directed at a user. However, all vulgarities in general are now permitted for use in all chat mediums.


208. VERBAL HARASSMENT

"Verbal harassment" refers to the acts of maltreatment of a user through a chat medium.

 

Examples of such acts include but is not limited to:

        I.            Blackmailing fellow users through threats;

     II.            Creating content containing malicious or slanderous statement about a user or the server; or

   III.            Expressing contempt towards other users.


SUB-SECTION (B) - OFFENCES PERTAINING TO PHYSICAL CONTACT IN-GAME - (210-215)


210. GRIEFING

"Griefing" refers to the act of defacing property in a pre-defined area claimed by a faction, in the vicinity of a locked chest or door or in an area which has been officially annexed by an administrator.

 

It should be noted that the aforementioned claim has to cover the entire the whole building or structure. The said chest or door has to be placed and locked in every chunk that the building or structure occupies.


211. PHYSICAL HARASSMENT

"Physical harassment" refers to the acts of maltreatment of a user through means besides a chat medium.

 

Examples of such acts include but is not limited to:

        I.            Intentionally partaking in any activity that annoys a user;

     II.            Obstructing a user from performing a task; or

   III.            Repeatedly killing a user despite being told to halt.


212. RAIDING

"Raiding" refers to the act of robbery or any theft-related offences in a pre-defined area claimed by a faction, in the vicinity of a locked chest or door or in an area which has been officially annexed by an administrator.

 

It should be noted that the aforementioned claim has to cover the entire the whole building or structure. The said chest or door has to be placed and locked in every chunk that the building or structure occupies.

215. USE OF ILLEGAL PROGRAMS

"Use of illegal programs" refers to the use of prohibited software that allows a user to gain an unfair advantage over others. Editing the game files is also strictly prohibited for use. All users are advised to exercise caution and use such modifications at their own expense.

 

Examples of such illegal programs include but is not limited to:

        I.            Cave finders;

     II.            Nodus;

   III.            Rei's Minimap; or

  IV.            X-ray resource packs.

 

Examples of allowed modifications include but is not limited to:

        I.            OptiFine; or

     II.            Shaders.


SUB-SECTION (C) - OFFENCES PERTAINING TO THE NETWORK AND ITS SYSTEM - (220-230)


220. ABETMENT OF OFFENCE

"Abetment of offence" refers to aiding someone in violating any of the rules or the failure to report an irregularity to a staff member.


221. ABUSE OF COMMANDS

"Abuse of commands" refers to the exploitation or misuse of any commands provided to gain an advantage over other users.


222. ATTACKING THE SYSTEM

"Attacking the system" refers to the repeated attempts of any individual to inflict harm to the forums and its services.

 

Examples of such attacks include but is not limited to:

        I.            Denial of Service (DoS) attacks;

     II.            Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks;

   III.            Proxy attacks; or

  IV.            Spambot attacks.


223. AUTOMATED ACTIONS

"Automated actions" refers to doing a single or multiple actions in a seemingly automated fashion repeatedly. Perpetually-running redstone machines which fully automate actions are also prohibited, whereas partially-automated redstone machines are allowed to a certain extent.

 

Examples of such actions include but are not limited to:

        I.            Automated egg collection systems through the use of hoppers;

     II.            Automated mob-killing farms; or

   III.            Using multiple accounts to partake in "AFK farming".


224. CREATION OF LAG

"Creation of lag" refers to the construction of machines either with or without redstone components to overload and inflict damage on the server.

 

Examples of such machine include but are not limited to:

        I.            Machines utilising the opening and closing of doors to overload the server; or

     II.            Perpetually-running redstone timers.


225. ENTERING RESTRICTED AREAS

"Entering restricted areas" refers to setting foot on properties that are deemed private and belong to the server through any means necessary that would otherwise be closed off from the public.

 

Examples of such properties include but is not limited to:

        I.            The Administrator Centre;

     II.            The Helper Centre;

   III.            The Moderator Centre; or

  IV.            The top of the Nether.


226. EVASION OF DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

"Evasion of disciplinary actions" refers to the use of any methods necessary, excluding appealing, to circumvent the disciplinary actions that have been meted out on a user.

 

Examples of such disciplinary actions include but is not limited to:

        I.            Account ban;

     II.            Account mute;

   III.            IP ban; or

  IV.            IP mute.


227. EXPLOITATION - ECONOMY-RELATED

"Economy-related exploitation" refers to the abuse of loopholes in the server economy to receive items, money or other assets for personal gain or any other invalid reason.


228. EXPLOITATION - NON-ECONOMY-RELATED

"Non-economy-related exploitation" refers to the abuse of loopholes in the server itself to continuously receive items, money or other assets for personal gain or any other invalid reason.


229. MONEY LAUNDERING

"Money laundering" refers to the concealment of assets such as items and monetary funds that have been obtained through illegal means. All assets that have been illegally obtained will be seized by staff members and all users involved in the scheme will have their accounts frozen.


230. USE OF MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS

"Use of multiple accounts" refers to the registration of two or more accounts in the server itself. Although owning several sub-accounts are now permitted, there are still certain restrictions pertaining to its use.

 

Examples of such restrictions include but are not limited to:

        I.            Boosting the maximum power of a faction;

     II.            Concealing illegal assets;

   III.            Evasion of disciplinary actions; or

  IV.            Storing money to bypass the death tax.



SECTION 3

ADDITIONAL DONOR RULES


OFFENCES PERTAINING TO DONATIONS - (300-301)


300. FORCED REFUNDS

"Forced refunds" refers to the use of chargebacks after using a PayPal to donate.


301. NO-SHOW ON MEET-UP

"No-show on meet-up" refers to the failure of the user to turn up as agreed for a previously-discussed donation without a valid reason.

OFFENCES PERTAINING TO STAFF MEMBERS - (400-406)


400. ABSENCE WITHOUT VALID REASON

"Absence without valid reason" refers to being inactive for an extensive period of time without a justifiable reason.


401. ABUSE OF POWER

"Abuse of power" refers to the misuse of any commands provided to gain an advantage over other users.


402. BIAS

"Bias" refers to the act of being prejudiced to or against a user. A staff member must always be just, neutral and impartial.


403. DISCRIMINATION

"Discrimination" refers to the act of being prejudiced to or against a group of users due to personal or non-personal reasons and influences.


404. INSUBORDINATION

"Insubordination" refers to the act of defying authority and to explicitly work against a superior authority's order.


405. MISDEMEANOURS

"Misdemeanours" refers to the act of breaking any of the codes of conduct, by which the punishment shall be determined and meted by a superior authority.


406. PRIORITIES

"Priorities" refers to the act of prioritising one's self over the server's users, unless justifiable.
