Okay em, can someone tell me how to make a server? I just want to make it a small server like where only my friends or perhaps other xealers can join. And tell me what will i encounter too like, do i have to pay for stuff or what plugins i need to have and stuff like that

And emm i wanna try a free way because im not allowed to use money for gaming yet by my mom :)
    Unless making a server is a pay-to-play ._.

    Nope!
Just use hamachi because thats what i did and never tried other methods.
Step 1: download LogMeInHamachi and install
Step 2: Download the server from minecraft.net
Step 3: Open the server application.
It should open then quit and leave a file that's called EULA.txt.
Step 4: Open said file and change false to true
Step 5: Re-open the server application
Step 6: close it once its done setting up other things
Step 7: open the file that has the .properties extension
Step 8: find online-mode:true and change the true to false
    Step 9: Create hamachi server
Step 10: take ip from hamachi server and put it in the server-address line so it'll be "server-address:<hamachi ip>"
Step 11: Start le server and join le server with le hamachi ip

Some notes: Hamachi must be installed on the computer of those who want to join the server and must be inside that hamachi server.
I went straight off memory so tell me if something is wrong/missing

Port forward? Use Utorrent if you're using a Mac. Otherwise... Idk. Maybe you could host a realm? They cost money though.

Your computer must be beefy enough to host a server unless you want to kill your PC

    Hamachi
For this, you will need to download the Hamachi software.
    1. Install it on your computer and activate it.
    2. Create a Hamachi group and ask your friends to join.
    3. Join the server via the Hamachi IP (25.xxx.xxx.xxx)
    4. Profit $$$

    Port-forwarding (Advanced; Recommended)
For this, you will (probably) need to have access to your router's internal software.
    1. Access your router by entering its LAN IP into your web browser (Usually 192.168.0.1)
    2. Go to your settings and access the tab labelled "Port-forward".
    3. Enter the IP of your computer into the box (192.168.xxx.xxx)*, and the port as 25565.
    4. Join the server via your IP.**
    5. Profit $$$
    * - You can check your computer's LAN IP by typing "ipconfig" into your command prompt.
** - You can also check your external IP by typing "ipconfig" into your command prompt or by checking it online.

You also need the user and password for port forwarding. That's why I never did
