    In this thread, I will be covering all the Rules of our Forum, Disciplinary Tools available here, as well as the rough Guidelines on the disciplinary actions meted out to those who fail to comply with the said rules.

    As you should have read on our Rules Page, you would see that Section 5 of our rules cover Offences Committed on the Forums. Do note that Xeal's general rules do apply on the Forums as well.


    Let's have a quick recap of the rules*:

    *Note: Rules may be altered at any point of time without prior notice. Members are strongly advised to check the rules regularly.
    1. Spamming
      • Posting multiple threads in forums in order to attract attention or for begging purposes will not be tolerated.
      • Posting two or more comments in quick succession in an intentional manner is strictly prohibited.
    2. Necro-bumping / Necro-posting
      • Posting on threads that are dead (i.e. Threads that do not have any new posts within the past 14 days) is strictly prohibited. However, posting on a thread that has been bumped accidentally/intentionally within 2 weeks is allowed.
      • Please also note that bumping official threads (i.e. Threads found in the Help and Issues section, etc, is acceptable only under the condition that there is a valid reason.)
      • Exceptions to this rule include posting of interest to join faction in the respective Faction Recruitment threads. However, if the posts are not for the sole purpose of joining/recruiting, they will be deemed as Necro-bumping.
    3. Usage of Inappropriate Language
      • Threads/Posts containing vulgarities or other hate-speech is strictly prohibited.
    4. Posting Inappropriate Content
      • All content posted on the forums should be of rating no higher than [PG-13]. Any member found to be in contempt of this rule will have his/her access rights revoked with immediate effect.
    5. Racking Up Posts
      • Amassing post-count via the means of posting useless, unnecessary comments on threads is prohibited.
    6. Account Management
      • Each member is only permitted to access his/her own account. Any member(s) found to be sharing account credentials or granting others access to his/her account may have his/her access rights suspended or revoked.
      • Posting applications or appeals on behalf of another member is also prohibited and such threads will be rejected immediately.
    7. Advertising
      • Posting any content that directly or indirectly advertises for another server is strictly prohibited.
    8. Abuse of Forum Rating System
      • Intentionally Up or Down rating a particular player's post due to a personal grudge or favoritism will not be tolerated.
    9. Unauthorized Exposure of Others' Personal Information
      • Exposing any personal details of any player or staff member directly or indirectly without prior consent is strictly prohibited.

    Forum Disciplinary Tools
    I'll now move on to the disciplinary actions on our Forums. Few players are aware of this, but our Forums has its own set of disciplinary tools to keep defiant players in check. Here, I will shed some light as to how the Forum's disciplinary tool works.
    1. User Reports
      • Members may flag a post on the forum that they believe is against any of the above-mentioned forum rules.
      • These reports are only visible to Moderators & Administrators.
      • Once the report is reviewed, members involved will be notified of the outcome of the investigation and if the accused is indeed guilty of going against the rules, he/she will be warned, with/without accompanying Warning Points, depending on the severity of the non-compliance.
    2. Warn System
      • Moderators & Administrators can warn a member for non-compliance of any of the forum rules.
      • Warn(s) may include Warning Points that will restrict member's access to the forums should he/she accumulate sufficient points.
      • Warning Points are timed-issued (i.e. the points last for a duration deemed by the awarding staff member, thereafter they expire and the member's warning point total will decrease)
      • Once a member has accumulated 7 warning points, he/she will temporarily be unable to access the forums until the points expire and falls below 7 points.
      • If a member accumulates 10 warning points, he/she will be permanently banned from the forums.

    Punishment Guidelines
    Here is a guideline on punishment* to be meted out to players who do not comply with our rules.
    *Note: This is merely a guideline and Moderators & Administrators have full discretion over the punishment meted out.
    1. Necro-bumping / Necro-posting
      • 1st offense : Warning only (no warning points) + Thread Locked
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 1 warning point (7-day duration) + Deletion of Posts + Thread Locked
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 1 warning point (30-day duration) + Deletion of Posts + Thread Locked
      • Subsequent offense(s) : Warning with 1 warning point (90-day duration) + Deletion of Posts + Thread Locked
    2. Usage of Inappropriate Language
      • 1st offense : Warning only (no warning points) + Censoring of Posts
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 1 warning point (14-day duration) + Censoring of Posts
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 1 warning point (30-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • Subsequent offense(s) : Warning with 2 warning point (60-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
    3. Advertising
      • 1st offense : Warning with 7 warning points (30-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 10 warning points (Perm-Ban) + Deletion of Posts
    4. Posting Inappropriate Content
      • 1st offense : Warning with 5 warning points (14-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 7 warning points (30-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 10 warning points (Perm-Ban) + Deletion of Posts
    5. Non-compliance with Staff (Helpers/Moderators/Administrators)
      • 1st offense : Warning with 2 warning points (7-day duration)
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 5 warning points (14-day duration)
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 7 warning points (30-day duration)
      • Subsequent offense : Warning with 10 warning points (Perm-Ban)
    6. Spamming (Posts)
      • 1st offense : Verbal warning + Deletion of Posts
      • 2nd offense : Warning only (no warning points) + Deletion of Posts
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 1 warning point (7-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • Subsequent offense(s) : Warning with 1 warning point (14-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
    7. Spamming (Threads)
      • 1st offense : Warning with 5 warning points (7-day duration) + Deletion of Threads
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 7 warning points (14-day duration) + Deletion of Threads
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 10 warning points (Perm-Ban) + Deletion of Threads
    8. Abuse of Post Rating System
      • 1st offense : Warning only (no warning points) + Deletion of Posts
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 3 warning points (7-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 5 warning points (14-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
      • Subsequent offense(s) : Warning with 7 warning points (30-day duration) + Deletion of Posts
    9. Unauthorized Exposure of Personal Information
      • 1st offense : Warning with 3 warning points (7-day duration) + Deletion of Post
      • 2nd offense : Warning with 5 warning points (14-day duration) + Deletion of Post
      • 3rd offense : Warning with 7 warning points (30-day duration) + Deletion of Post
      • Subsequent offense : Warning with 10 warning points (Perm ban) + Deletion of Post
    10. Evasion of Punishment on the Forums
      • All accounts belonging to the user will be banned permanently.

    Ofcourse, all these rules and disciplinary tools are for the sole purpose of keeping our forums healthy and an enjoyable place for all members. Do the right thing, and together, we can keep the forums a great place to hang out and interact with other members you seldom meet in-game!
